The Legal Committee (LEGAL)

The Legal Committee is the sixth and the last committee out of the committees of the United Nations General Assembly. It’s primary duty is to provide an evaluation regarding the accountability within the international law. As outlined in article 13 of the UN Charter, its main aspiration is to promote the swift and transparent implementation of the international laws and universally ratified conventions. Alongside its main duty, the sixth committee has other purposes which are not limited to; addressing the issues regarding international relations, trade and terrorism, and disputes between states and organizations. Processing the international collaboration regarding the question of the implementation of the international law within the ratification and compliance of the member states was the reason of the establishment of the sixth committee.
